We are, as our name - Light The Way Mission Development Church - suggests, a mission Church and a beacon of light for His Word! And though we are just putting down roots in the Northwest Tucson and Marana area, we are a vibrant part of the body of Christ which is claimed by His light forever, called, gathered and sent to tell of God's love and to serve all of God's people! We are called to proclaim the Gospel, care for our neighbors, provide for the needy, care for the sick, welcome the lost, teach the scriptures, enhance our new and thriving preschool, and serve His church more fully.

As a mission Church, we are actively seeking out all who do not have a church home. And as a member of the body of Christ, Light The Way welcomes and serves all of God's people. The Book of Romans declares:
Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
~ Romans 15:7

God's word also reminds us in the Book of Matthew that:
Whoever welcomes you welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one
who sent me.
~ Matthew 10:40

Light The Way welcomes all in Christ's name!

What We Believe

The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of Heaven and Earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Christian Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.

We proclaim God the Father, Jesus His Son, and the Holy Spirit comprise the Triune God! All power is derived from the three that are one! And we proclaim Jesus for He is the solid rock upon which we stand - all other ground is sinking sand! Jesus says, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
(John 14:6)

Likewise, we proclaim the Holy Spirit! We seek the Holy Spirit's power to bring people to faith, to convict people of sin, and to restore the joy of salvation to convicted sinners. We acknowledge and desire both the gifts of the Spirit and the fruit of the Spirit to be manifest in our lives. Jesus said, "The advocate, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I have said to you." (John 14:26)

With God as our strength and guide, we declare His passion for the lost! We share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all the world. Jesus said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you fish for people." (Matthew 4:19) So we follow and know that a day spent fishing is a day well spent in service of our Lord!

Holy Scripture!

The Holy Scriptures are the inspired word of God. Scripture is without error. Scripture is a living Word that is relevant for the entire world. "For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there until they have watered the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and succeed in the thing for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:10-11)
The book of Romans reminds us as well that, "For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, so that by steadfastness and by the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope." (Romans 15:4)

Worship is essential to our lifestyle. Worship is of God, for God, by God, within God for us. Remember, "You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light." (I Peter 2:9) And as the Psalmist declares, "Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name." (Psalm 100:4)

We are a people of prayer. "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." (I Thessalonians 5:16-18)
Or as the word declares, "Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened." (Matthew 7:7-8)

Education: to Learn and to Teach!

We are a people who seek to study, learn, and receive His Word. Scripture reminds us that God's Word is "a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." (Psalm 119:105)
Also, let us be reminded that, "Faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through
the word of Christ." (Romans 10:17)
So we absorb His word, "All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work." (II Timothy 3:16-17)

God's desire is to sanctify and conform us to His good, pleasing, and perfect will. "I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God - what is good and acceptable and perfect." (Romans 12:1-2)
Also, remember that the Lord God declared to Jeremiah and His Word echoes for all eternity that, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you!" (Jeremiah 1:5)

We are anointed to the service of God and responsible for taking the gifts so generously bestowed upon us and sharing them with all others to His glory. Indeed, we are blessed to be a blessing and welcome all who wish to share their talents or resources in the service of our Lord. "For you know the generous act of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that by His poverty you might become rich." (II Corinthians 8:9)
Indeed, God is a gracious giver! So as the Psalmist declares, "Give thanks to the Lord for He is good; His steadfast love endures forever!" (Psalm 118:1)
"And so it is that God loves a cheerful giver." (II Corinthians 9:7)

Pastor Dale L. Moe

Pastor Dale L. Moe began his calling at Light The Way Church in August 2009. Pastor Moe was born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota and graduated from Duluth East High School. He attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota and played four years of College basketball at Concordia. Pastor Moe graduated in 1984 from Concordia and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and a minor in Business, graduating with honors.

While attending Concordia, Pastor Moe felt his calling to become a minister. In 1984 he enrolled at Luther Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota and received his Masters of Divinity Degree in May 1988. His third year of Seminary was spent on internship in Sierra Vista, Arizona.

In 1988, Pastor Moe was ordained and received his first call to serve as associate pastor in a team ministry at First Lutheran Church in Hibbing, Minnesota. Four years later, in 1992, he was called to Grafton Lutheran Church in Grafton, North Dakota. In Grafton he served as pastor of a team ministry, as well.

In the fall of 1996, Pastor Moe answered the call to serve as the mission development pastor of Lord of Grace Lutheran Church in Tucson, Arizona. He spent 11 years developing the congregation and then, in the summer of 2007, Pastor Moe was called back to the Grafton parish as lead pastor. After serving two years, Pastor Moe once again received a call as a mission development pastor for Light the Way Church in Tucson, Arizona.

Through all of the change, growth, and excitement posed by answering these calls to do the Lord's work, Pastor Moe has been blessed with the love and support of his wife, Sunni, and their three children.

Pastor Moe has admitted to feeling much like the apostle Paul who returned to Corinth again and again, and who, likewise, was mission focused. Pastor Moe has a passion for mission work and he will continue to carry this mission minded posture wherever he goes so as to serve our Lord's church.

As followers of Christ, we are his flock and forever in his care, finding nourishment and life in his Word. In his role as mission pastor, Pastor Moe's continuing aim is to find those "sheep," those people, who are not fed, to find those "sheep," or people, who are broken or lost, and to feed them - to bring Christ to them and bring them into Christ's care. This said, it is Pastor Moe's desire that all will seek to become disciples for the sake of the kingdom.

About Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC)

Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ is an association of congregations and individuals who are:
" free in Christ;
" accountable to one another;
" rooted in the Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions;
" working together to fulfill Christ's Great Commission to go and make disciples of all nations.
LCMC is an association of congregations. We have a great respect for the reality that the church is where the people of God gather together around Word and Sacrament. The local congregation is where the church becomes a concrete reality for God's people.
At the same time we are joyously aware that each congregation is a part of the greater body of Christ. The actions of each congregation within our association reflect on our association as a whole. And the actions of our association reflect on the whole body of Christ. For this reason we have committed ourselves to a common set of ministry standards.

Claimed by the light of Christ forever, we are called, gathered, and sent to tell of God's love and serve all of God's people.
